It would be delightful if the imdb entry was more than wishful thinking, which is what it has been in the last couple of years, since it was first rumoured to be going ahead, in our own Nicolas Cage filmography!!

 I guess imdb can be added to by anyone,, so it is not in any way an official announcement, but it has always seemed strange to me after discussing about it seemingly going ahead with Diane Kruger on twitter ages ago, and comments such as "we are developing a script now" from JB and "there are pllans" from Jon Turteltaub around the time of The Sorcerer's Apprentice publicity in this interview that it has gone completely silent around this film.

but..it has to be said that there is a massive interest out there for a third film, and it has shown itself to be a highly sfranchise... so let us hope JB Films responds to it!

 

Yes, it is confusing Tues! I am more confused by the comments from JB and JT, why would they plant those seeds of hope if there was no truth to there  being a third film? Some on Mtr Bruckhemier, water those seeds for us a little?!?!?!  As I said imdb is not official and can be added to by anyone so really that could be nothing more that wishful thinking.

 

However.......just a thought here..... the scripts and plotlines for the National Treasure films are so epic and must require an awful lot of research and expertise, it is not the kind of film that you write for quickly! So maybe that is what is going on, or perhaps they had to rewrite, or something?

I agree with everyone here too. Not official but hay we can all hope and pray and dream it will happened. I too love the National Treasures movies and yes they do take time and research for history and story line too. YES! Hope it happens for sure.
