LMO recently scored Atli Örvarsson’s music over 2 days at Air Lyndhurst Hall. Atli used a 36 piece string section (10 first violins, 8 seconds, 6 violas, 8 celli and 4 double basses) for most of the score with 1 session for slightly smaller strings. All the string sessions were supported by Bassoon and Contra Bassoon.A seperate brass session involved 6 horns, 2 tenor trombones, 2 bass trombones and tuba. David Juritz led the orchestra, Andy Brown conducted the sessions and Steve Mclaughlin engineered and produced with Atli Örvarsson.
Season of the Witch, produced by Atlas Entertainment and distributed by Lionsgate in the US and was released in January 2011.
I really want to recommend the Season Of The Witch OST to everyone, it is not necessarily true of all sountracks but having jsut bought my copy, this one is well worth listening to away from the film as well, it is haunting evocative and moving
As you all know the entry to Wormwood Forest is one of my favourite parts of the film and the soundtrack is no exception to that awesomeness of that moment
