So have any of you guys over there seen the movie yet? Is it any good? did I ruin the movie by not holding the box of empty donuts correctly? August 23rd is a long time from now still....
Yep! I saw you as Cusack comes into the bakery!! A moment of fame.
A really good film, fantastic performances from all, well made, i dont mind the shaky cam as some do. Great use of locations and very tense. I just wish it had been on longer, i felt it needed a good twenty mins extra, particularly towards the end. It looks like a lot had been cut as some scenes in that original leaked trailer, didnt make the final.
If i was being fussy, i didnt really care for the 50 cent bit and they maybe sgould have cut this to see more of Cge/Cusacks characters.
Overall though, a fantastic film with a couple of real haunting scenes that continue to stay with me...
Did they leave in the scene where 50 cent get his butt kicked outside the bar? I still wonder why anyone would have a bbq pit full of water covered in snow outside when it's 6 degrees... I saw that scene filmed it took like three hours to shoot it. I felt bad for the stunt double I think he had his face scraped on the bottom of the grill a few times he got dunked hard by Brad and then thrown on the pavement missing the soft snow pile they built to throw the stunt guy on.
Did you notice my car in there at all (The BMW)? that is the part I'm most excited to see lol....The fact I got in there was bonus. I was also in a scene where cage meets the DA out on the side walk and he yells at cage something like that was a damn fool thing you did....I walked opposing to Nick (you'd get the shiny bald spot on the back of my head. He almost ran me into the bushes one take, I was wondering if I should bump him or dive for the snow bank because there wasn't room for both of us between him and the brick flower bed wall, fortunately he realized he drifted off course and moved over....I also walked behind him in a court house lobby scene, he was talking to the prosecutor, I come in the door stop and say hi to a group of lawyers and then keep walking towards the cage group and go right to the elevators.
I was also in a scene where he's walking down the sidewalk showing people a picture of Cindy, The camera was behind and I actually nearly rubbed shoulders with him as I walked by due the number of people they crammed on the sidewalk.
I'm amazed how they reuse the same group of people or same batch of cars for multiple scenes and when you watch the movie you never really notice since they are all just in the background moving around.....I've started to notice now since I have a better idea of how they do stuff.
Yes he did get his butt kicked! I dont know, I wanted more of the Hansen stuff.
Cant remember if i saw youre BMW , need to watch again!
They were scenes of Nic looking for Cindy in clubs, so you may see yourself!
There were a couple of real disturning scenes, i wont spoil it for anyone, but one in particular with Cusack having a girl captive in his house was real nasty stuff.
Great use of locations, you felt the seediness, the mountain, wildnerness/helicopter shots are all good.
Thanks for posting your impressions of the movie, Johnny, I am so intrigued by everything I have read, and it is great to hear from a member who has seen it! Lucky you, I must say. Looking forward to my turn.
