TORONTO — Actor Nicolas Cage will be in Toronto next month to star in the supernatural thriller Pay the Ghost.
Cage will play an ambitious New York University professor whose young son goes missing during a Halloween day parade.
The movie was written by Dan Kay based on the short story of the same name by Tim Lebbon.
Pay the Ghost will reportedly be directed by Uli Edel, who recently completed work on the History mini-series Houdini starring Adrien Brody.
Additional casting information is not yet available.
Filming, scheduled to begin in late August, will take place at various locations in Toronto and on the sound stages at Cinespace.
Cage currently stars in Rage, in which he plays a father searching for his abducted daughter.
The 50-year-old actor previously worked in Toronto on the 2010 action film Kick-Assand has been a regular guest of the Toronto International Film Festival.
Would love to be there to try and catch a glimpse, so near and yet so far, lol! Is the Runner almost finished filming then? I have lost track of it all.
